What the Hawaii Linux translation project aims to do is build upon the proposal made by Jim Thompson at TPOSSCON 2006. This presentation can be heard here: TPOSSCON 2006 media Direct MP3 download (17 Mb - 19min) Direct Ogg Vorbis download (12 Mb - 19min) Jim's proposal involved a localized version of Linux that would initially include translating everything into Hawaiian. This would then extend to our own Hawaiian distribution of Linux which would include calendars, artworks... The whole bit. The proposal was to use Ubuntu/Kubuntu Linux as this has the best infrastructure in place to support such a project. This is through the Rosetta translation system.
